Released v2.1.0 – Added Philips Hue Support

Audectra now supports Philips Hue lights! Many of you have been waiting for this feature. =)

There are a few limitations though:

  • Only “Entertainment Groups” are supported.
  • Limited to 20 fps (will check if I can get this any more responsive)
  • All lights in the group are controlled as one channel (for now)

The limitation to “Entertainment Groups” is due to technical limitations in the responsiveness of Hue lights or Bridges.

Linking Audectra with Hue

First, you need to setup an entertainment group or area in your philips hue app. If you need any help with that, you can check out the following link:

To allow Audectra to sync your lights, simply click the “Hue Setup” button in the settings tab of Audectra and follow the instructions. Hint: You’ll need physical access to the bridge for authentication (pressing the button on the bridge). Authentication timeout is set to 15 seconds.

After that, you will be able to add your Hue entertainment group or area as a normal client in Audectra:

From here onward, you can treat the hue client as simple non-addressable client, like outlined in this guide.

If you need any help or experience any trouble with Audectra, don’t be shy and let me know in the forums. I will give my best to help you or fix any issue as soon as possible!

Have fun with Audectra! =)
